a song that fills my head all day.
intro: whale sounds]
Watching puddles gather rain
Theres no better place to lay
Shes as fine as dandelions blowing in the wind
Shes not thinkin' about anything...
She floats
Floats...
Wearing black patent mary janes
She steps out in to the rain
She's as dry as clear blue skies
Swallowing you whole
God knows secrets though I'm told
She floats
Ahhh... ahhh...
She's as fine as dandelions blowing in the wind
Shes not thinking she's listening
She floats... She floats... Floats...
Floats...
She floats...She floats... Floats...
Floats...
She Floats by Vanessa Carlton

this is my winter song to you.
Greetings. =)
on sunday morning i awoke to a wintery iceland. every tree, branch, and bush was covered in ice. on some the ice covering was so thick it was hard to see the tree under all the ice.
so i spent sunday morning taking as many pictures as possible...
so i spent sunday morning taking as many pictures as possible...
just one of the ice covered trees in my yard.
more red berries
i took a bunch more but these were the best.
also the pictures in the slideshow are of our christmas tree. i thought it would be more fun to put them in a slideshow instead of another post.
so a couple things:
1. theres only like 3 more days until christmas and im very excited. haha i don't even have a real reason since we aren't going anymore or doing anything special...im just excited.
2. i still have christmas shopping to do
3. i really really really really want to go to NYC. you dont even know.
4. listen to Winter Song by Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson. its in my playlist. (i actually liked this song before it got popular)

hellohellohello
ok so this probably won't be very long considering i have like a 2347629879 foot mountain of school to do.
In Memphis, Tennessee, a woman is not to drive a car unless a man warns approaching motorists or pedestrians by walking in front of the car that is being driven. (i found this here)
a million dollars for anyone who can make sense of this law.
also...
the most popular first name in the world is Muhammad.
nice.
ok i'm done.

Coldplay does it again.

so i've never really followed the Grammy awards or whatever, but one of this years nominee caught my attention: coldplay. i was really surprised considering that their fellow contenders include kanye west, lil' wayne, and ne-yo. haha not wanting to be mean but coldplay is in a whole different level from our mainstream rappers. i've been listening to coldplay's music for a couple years now and they're definitely one of the best bands out there. there music stays away from the overplayed mainstream beat and the lyrics contains lots of different messages. personally, my favorite albums are X&Y(2005) and Viva La Vida (2008.)and some of my favorite songs are fix you, a message, what if, and viva la vida. i'm pretty sure i have most of this on my playlist at the bottom of this page...definitely check them out.
anyways they're nominated for these different categories:
Album Of The Year
Record Of The Year
Song Of The Year
Nominations in the Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals
For Best Rock Album
oh 2 other things:
1. Adele is nominated for best new artist
2. the soundtrack for Juno is nominated ofr best soundtrack of the year (!!!!)
adios my friends.

my unfinished story
ok so a while ago i started creating this story in my head...but when i started actually writing it down i realized that it wasn't the story i wanted to tell...so i've been trying to work with it. i've tried changing characters, the plot, and even where it takes place. but its still not the story i'm looking for. anyways here's the first and only part that i written of the story... i'm trying to use this as a spring board for the rest of the story. and so here it is:
She quickly pulled up the hood of her jacket as she stepped out of the movie theater. Outside was a combination of cold and humid, like after a heavy rainfall. The ground was covered with small puddles of water. The neon lights from the movie theater reflected on the water, creating a kaleidoscope of colors on the puddles. Because it was dark outside, the colors seemed to jump out from the puddles. She purposely stepped on one of the puddles and watched as the colors became distorted. There she stood, entranced by the movement of the reflected colors. Thinking. Staring. Boisterous laughter from behind made her head snap up. She watched a group of teens float past her. She glanced at her watch. 11:00pm. Good, she thought. She still had some time before Tim picked her up. Maybe 45 minutes. Her older brother never left a party before 11. She looked up at the sky as it started to rain. The cold rain drops felt refreshing after the stuffy movie theater. She looked once more at the watery painting at her feet and walked toward the side of the theater. She went to her usual place. The exit door on the side of the theater. She lit her cigarette and leaned against the wet door. She looked out at the street in front her. She took in everything: Every car that flew by, laughter from a group of black kids, the noise of traffic, and the changing traffic light colors. This was her last night in the city. In her city. She lived here all her life and never had known anything else. The noise and lights of the city had put her to sleep and woken her up for the last 17 years. The energy of the city kept her going. Now she was leaving all this behind.

wet ground...and the snow is falling, falling.
So it looks like we might have a white Christmas after all. When it started snowing last night both Gab and Abby looked at the snow like they had never seen such a thing before. I had to admit...the snow made everything look prettier. haha.
Anyways today after church I took some pictures of my yard after the first snow fall...
This is our back step leading to our backyard. And evidence that someone already had been in the new snow.
Bushes covered in snow..
This picture has a very Narnish feel...wouldn't you agree?
Abby found these...
Those were my favorites.
I'll be posting a full album with all the pics I took...
Love,
Eden
p.s. Listen to Wet Ground by Sondre Lerche. Its a good cold snowy day song :)

Happy Birthday, Mami =)
She opens up my bedroom door
She's waking me up soon "i'm turning on the light" she warns
It's the little things that you do She's the one that start's my day..
My dear mom... my comforter
My friend forever
When life's right or wrong
She is also my laughter
Yet my sholuder to cry on
My mom is my super hero
My mom is my world ...
All out of gas no place to go
She knows just what i'll say
She turns and laughs and opens up
Her purse
And gives enough for the week
She didn't have to give but she did
It's just the kind of woman she is
Love, she is love
My dear mom...
My mom is my super hero
My mom is my world...
Love is an action that she shows me often.
Even when it's not in her kisses
Blessed with a mom who puts herself after her children.
It dosen't get much better than priceless
Priceless
My mom is my super hero
My mom is my world, yeah
She Is...

It's Official...
...I've joined the ranks of the millions of bloggers that populate the world wide web. Insanity, I know. And why have I started to blog? I really have no idea. Maybe it's because I want a space to write. Maybe to publish pictures of my everyday life. Maybe to share my thoughts with you and the world. Maybe it's all of the above. Or maybe...it's just because I'm bored (=
Whatever the case, I'm here and my blog has been created. What will come of it? Who knows.
But I'm excited to find out.
Thanks for reading,
Eden
